The Chicago Technical College (CTC) was founded in 1904 with a two-year course of study in architecture; architectural engineering; civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering would lead to a college diploma. A three-year course of study in one of those fields would earn a student a bachelor’s degree. The original CTC home was the Lake View building at 116 S. Michigan Avenue, close to downtown and libraries.
