Description

Vintage dating from the 70's Rare Pierre Cardin Lucite Panel Floor Lamp with gold laminated base and reverse pedestal top that also serves as a table / display top. Pierre Cardin introduced these lamps which light up from the bottom base, creating an even flow of light through the Lucite etched panel. Many were Chrome OR Gold laminated at the base and top, and almost all of them had the top upside down from this one, in the form of a shade. This one is constructed in the reverse with a top opposite of the base. The top has a black thin removable acrylic panel (it looks like it was glued down originally but now unglued) which functions as a pedestal. The one we have here for sale is one of the largest made of this kind and it is a floor lamp. It was also made in a shorter version to serve as a desk or table lamp. The lamp you see here in our photos and is for sale, measures 40.5" high X 12.5" wide X 10" deep. This is a "Mood Lamp" that does not exude a lot of light yet exudes tremendous style. Please note that the original Pieces carried a clear label on the bottom which was often removed. The lamp is original with original long cord and in working condition. Condition is extremely good considering its age. We see some stress marks inside the thick clear Lucite at the bottom on one side that we point out in our photos, and some minor imperfections and unglued small sections of the gold foil trim, but no missing trim anywhere. The above flows are hardly noticeable when the lamp is on display. Beautiful and hard to find, especially in this condition. Please check all the photos thoroughly as they are part of the description.
